History

Passion, friendship, safety and a melting pot of different cultures!

The origin of this adventure started in the Caucasus mountains, where 4 passionated skiers from 2 very different cultures met during the first European Freeride Cup organized in Russia and became friends about 10 years ago. This was the beginning of a long story!

Since that time our dreams and ideas became a clear shape and we start to be a big family. But our inital ideas which drives all this project remain still the same: passion, friendship and safety but also a melting pot of different cultures!

Nikolay Veselovskiy and Vitaly Ilinykh

Nikolay Veselovskiy and Vitaly Ilinykh — are the shareholders of «Vertikalny Mir».

Since more than 20 years, they began to explore different areas of the ex-Soviet Union: Caucasus, Khibiny, Ural, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Baikal, Siberia, Kamchatka. During this time they explored thousands of kilometers for virgin powder runs in 1/6 part of our Planet!

These two passionate skiers have been the first Russians to organize and commercially run helicopter skiing in Russia

Bernd Schulke

«Bernie» lived in Chamonix, he was a personality in this small world of alpinists and skiers and known much further than only the limits of the valley he lived. He met Nikolay and Vitaly during a Freeride competition in the Caucasus which was the beginning of a long friendship but also of new projects — to establish and promote Heliskiing for European customers.

Bernie died in an avalanche on the south slopes of the Mt. Blanc area in April 2003.
